nice price deal !!! a/jus/ted is the musical concept of veteran producer justin strauss & analog aficionado teddy stuart, better known as eddie mars, & since coming together in 2012 the pair have crafted some lush, synth heavy music. before then they had impressive careers: in the case of strauss, remixing & producing for some of the biggest acts in the states from a range of genres, & for stuart it was producing his own disco fried sounds for uno nyc.

nancy azzurro comes out of nowhere. well, that’s not entirely true—lovefingers met her about 10 years ago on the beach near her home on the island of sardinia—but in terms of our musical orbit, she is a very private artist, creating only the purest music, straight from the heart. these three gorgeous songs were produced during her young adulthood and would become secret weapons for a handful of djs she’d meet over the following years. still standing the test of time today, they’re now finally seeing a proper release. side-a’s grace invites us into nancy’s world where disco and house collide—the live drums, percussion and bassline hold down a blanket of synth strings and wah-wahs. halfway through this epic enters a piano hook of the highest order, an emotional rush that brings together everything we love on the dancefloor, guaranteed to induce goosebumps. on side-b, she rounds out the release with the dreamlike, percussive and yugo-tinged illustrations & the large, and closes with the title track teen bee, a loopy cowbell-driven dive into the deep, filled with luscious sweeping chords and meandering keys. the esp institute is honoured to close out 2016 (one seriously heavy year) with such a beautiful and cohesive release. thank you and goodnight.

the italian disco producer has previously appearing playing bass alongside the heels of love (tirk) but turns out a spectacular solo summer burner with sparkling vocals from miss bee. ray mang (dfa, noid) turns up the heat a notch delivering a slow pop groover that shuffles and slips through a well crafted boogie beat underpinned with a grinding baseline. already receiving early support from bill brewster and many of the usual disco mafia. lithuanian super produce mario basanov (future classics, under the shade) further enhances the summer vibe with a glistening and warm house rework. perfect for poolside antics. the original retains the growling bass line which seems to constantly build and build. miss bee (former outings alongside toby tobias) laces delicate vocal which juxtapose the track perfectly. last but my no means least is a dance floor bomb, courtesy of bonar bradberry (needwant, under the shade) who remixes the original panzerotti track into an epic that will shift even the most stubborn of head nodders

part 1 of the night fever series!!

the beekeepers are the latest signing to the j funk family joining kraak & smaak, skeewiff, smoove & turrell, dr rubberfunk, soopasoul, max sedgley and all good funk alliance on the jalapeno roster. with stable mates like that there was only one way the bee funk ep was gonna go - a mixture of upfront party breakbeat hip hop and one of the most beautifully widescreen ambient breakbeat tracks since clubbed to death.

the follow-up to last years deep in need, the haunting me ep brings three new soulful and sleazy tracks from dirty bee. since house has been a buzzword for the last year or two, old-timer dirty bee shows the kids that its possible to give a shout-out to the old school, while still finding plenty of room for innovation. the title track, featuring bees friend luther on vocal duties, brings a paranoid vibe that crescendos with fluttering chimes and a baltimore breakdown. on the flipside, things get a bit filthy with out of body: pounding bass with conga accents keep the tempo, while a drunken, off-kilter saxophone solo tries to find its way home. finally, the snarling, electrified bounce of work for me closes out the ep. spread the house gospel!

mysterious and most of all vinyl only whitelabels seem to be the call of the day. if they are as good as this one here i have no doubt - this trend will stay our fried. open produced bassy and sweat boxing, slamming chicago - detroit- chicago style house with great piano chord and slight pitched atmosphere. somehow between early chez n ron and roy davis , dj pierre, kerri, mood2 swing, nu groove, kot. now ive almost named them all. oops… . sinister but oh so sexy!
